MBABANE – The speculation is officially over for the Mbabane Marathon prize breakdown.
The annual race, held in the nation’s capital, has graduated to a full marathon after starting as a 10km charity fun run in 2018 and progressing to a half-marathon over the years.
The Municipal Council of Mbabane (MCM) officially launched this year’s edition on July 30, 2025, where sponsor MTN Fintech announced a substantial purse of E360 000 for the event.
While registration is still ongoing, closing on November 7 and the routes already mapped out, the specific prize breakdown had been the missing piece of the puzzle.
The MCM yesterday decided to let the cat out of the bag, revealing the financial incentives via their official Facebook page. The top male and female runners in the full marathon will each pocket a cool E20 000, with the runner-up receiving exactly half of the top prize.
