LOBAMBA – A ‘vote of no confidence’ threat hangs over Cabinet ministers as Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament, Marwick Khumalo, has reiterated how provocative they are towards Parliament.
The longest serving legislator emphasised that no one has the right to withhold or stand on the way of a policy or legislation that has received green light from both Parliament and the country’s head of State.
The MP’s submission emanates from a House Resolution as Parliament approved a E30 million allocation for The Luke Commission (TLC) in the 2024/25 financial year and a subsequent E50 million for the 2025/26 financial year. These allocations were passed as part of the national budget and signed into law by the King, making them lawful financial commitments.
However, the legislator expressed concern that Cabinet was seemingly sitting on the implementation of the policy, making a reference a letter shared by Minister for Health, Mduduzi Matsebula, which details that the Ministry of Health has duly processed all the documentation for the final process consideration to release the allocated E50 million in accordance with the established procedures and has submitted the necessary documentation and recommendations to the Office of the Prime Minister for consideration and onward transmission through Cabinet.
Khumalo submitted that this amounted to contempt of Parliament and he even requested Speaker of the House, Jabulani Mabuza, to engage with the Cabinet team and remind them they have the obligation to respect policies that
