MANZINI – The Lubombo Region’s domination of the MulaSport NFD continues, as yet another player from the area has won the Player of the Month award.
National First Division (NFD) Madlenya’s attacking midfielder and Captain Thobelani Gamedze was yesterday named the finest star for November at an event held at the MulaSport offices in Manzini. For this outstanding achievement, Gamedze was presented with a trophy and a replica cheque worth E2 500, as he also automatically entered the race for the player of the season award.
Speaking on his performance, the attacker confirmed his remarkable run of form, detailing his seven goal involvements over the past month, which included four goals and three assists.
Gamedze expressed his honour and motivation, stating he is determined to fight hard and help his team bounce back to the MTN Premier League following their relegation last season. He also took the time to thank all those who contributed to his success.
Gamedze’s win follows the first Player of the Month award, which went to his regional counterpart, Red Lions’ Teboho ‘Juries’ Dlamini. Gamedze pipped his teammate, Siphosethu Simelane and Red Lions’ Sandziso Masuku, to claim the November prize.
MulaSport Marketing Manager, Phetsile Xulu, praised the player’s exemplary performance, noting that the award serves to reward his talent and dedication to the game.
Adding a final remark, Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Brand and Marketing Officer, Lindokuhle Mthupha, expressed his hope that the award would inspire both the winners and all teams to see their players push hard to deliver positive results for their fans.
