MBABANE – With the second window registration period opening on January 8, clubs are gearing up to make their moves.
One key player on the spotlight is Nsingizini Hotspurs talented and highly-rated versatile defender, Kwakhe ‘Stopper’ Thwala. There is purportedly a new twist in his possible move, with the latest developments suggesting he might rejoin Mbabane Swallows. This is just days after impeccable sources whispered that the latter is set for a shock exit from the club to a team outside this country’s borders.
He was spotted at ‘Umkhonto KaShaka’s Tuesday training at Motshane. He had ‘dumped’ Swallows last season for the Shiselweni-based side.
Mbabane Swallows Public Relations Officer (PRO) Knowledge ‘Bhambo’ Ngwenya revealed they were engaging six players to bolster their squad though remained tight-lipped with their names.
“The board had indicated six players are being engaged. A briefing is yet to be made with regards to confirmed signings. At the time, I cannot confirm Kwakhe’s reports,” Ngwenya said.
Regardless, Thwala dismissed reports of his exit from Nsingizini.
The reports are circulating amid a reported formal bid from Mozambique top division side, Costa do Sol for the Sihlangu star. It emerged that Costa do Sol, the most successful team in Mozambique since that country’s national independence, are frontrunners in the chase for the former Mbabane Swallows star’s signature. It was gathered from impeccable sources that the international outfit want the player on board as early as the second week of January 2026.
