MBABANE – With the registration window opening this past Thursday, clubs across the country stirred into action.
Eswatini football’s ‘Big 3’ wasted little time in staking their intent. Determined not to be left behind, they moved swiftly and decisively, turning the early days of the window into a statement of power.
Mbabane Swallows, Mbabane Highlanders and Manzini Wanderers, were among those who have rushed to boost their roster in preparation for a tough season ahead. ‘Weslians’, as Wanderers are affectionately known, paraded their new signing Linda Nkambule, who played for the better half of their match against Royal Leopard at Mayaluka Stadium two days ago. Gcina Dlamini also used the skills of returning attacking midfielder Sandile Maseko from Tabankulu Celtics.
The duo displayed their prowess and contributed in goals scored by Siyabonga Xaba and Malwande Gwebu. However, the score ended 3-2 in favour of Leopard.
Just yesterday, Mbabane Swallows unveiled former Amawele Ghanaian centre-back Fred Asante ahead of their derby match against Mbabane Highlanders. He had a dream debut, playing the entire game in yesterday’s win.
“We welcome Fred to the club and anticipate that he will add value and take our team to new and higher heights,” part of their caption read.
The red and white ensemble were also said to have signed and registered seasoned forward Phiwayinkhosi ‘Slwabelwabe’ Dlamini.
