LOBAMBA – His Majesty the King has called upon the nation to 40 days of fasting, marking a significant moment of spiritual renewal as Eswatini commemorates 40 years of independence.
The theme for this is ‘Launch into the deep’. His Majesty stated this while preaching at Mandvulo Hall at Lozitha Palace, where emaSwati attended from all over the country. Also in attendance was Pastor George Jongwe from Zimbabwe.
The King drew profound meaning from the biblical significance of the number 40. He noted that 40 years means a number of milestones, linking it to renewal and transformation. Further, he noted how the children of Israel and Jesus fasted according to the Bible.
The King encouraged emaSwati not to be deterred by age or even circumstance.
His Majesty emphasised that walking with God brings miraculous outcomes. Drawing from Scripture, he reminded the gathering that as a nation, ‘this is not the time to look down on each other. We must praise God all the time. Pray, open your heart for God.’
Coincidentally, yesterday’s National Day of Prayer fell on Valentine’s Day, celebrated worldwide for love. Pastor Madudu Mabuza, who was also the Master of Ceremonies (MC), made note of the day, stating that it was not just a coincidence that the prayer day fell on the same day as Valentine’s Day.
During his sermon, the King also mentioned love but he spoke on the biblical ‘Agape love’. He said this is love that refers to unconditional love. His message centred on the power of divine love and its ability to transform individuals and the nation alike.
“As a nation, let’s move with agape love. All homes in Eswatini, let’s move in Agape love. We thank him for leading us for 40 years.”
However, he also noted that no person can have agape love except God. He said God showed this love in the book of John 3:16.
The verse reads: “F|or God loved the world so much that he gave his only son that whosoever believes in him shall have eternal life”, the King read.
He assured the faithful that with God, all things are possible. “Even if we can go to the sea and command, it to open, it won’t but God can. As emaSwati we have been existing as a country for 40 years. Great things will happen.”
King Warns of ‘Bo Guluva’: Truth Will Be Exposed
MBABANE – His Majesty the King issued a stern warning to those who live dishonestly, cautioning that those who operate in darkness will eventually be brought to light.
Delivering his message on Valentine’s Day at the Mandvulo Hall prayer service, the King spoke passionately about the importance of walking in truth. “What will guide us is the truth. Nothing but the truth. If you move in truth, nothing will fail you,” he declared.
In a striking admonition, the King warned that if a person was a guluva, this will show in the end. Guluva is a term often associated with criminals.
His Majesty called upon the nation to embrace holiness and humility. “God wants people who are holy and humble. Those who love themselves and speak the truth. God knows where truth abides. We should walk in the truth all the time”, the King added.
King is The Great Preacher – Her Majesty Indlovukazi
MBABANE – Her Majesty the Indlovukazi delivered a stirring message at the Mandvulo Hall prayer service, where she referred to His Majesty the King as The great preacher.
She referred to him as umfundisi lomkhulu, much to the joy of the worshipers.
Speaking before the congregation, Her Majesty expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gather in prayer at the start of 2026. “We are happy before starting all duties for the year, we come here to pray. We have seen that now we in 2026, God has been with us. We ask even this year for Him to take care of us as He has done.”
Her message drew from Scripture, particularly Luke chapter 5, where fishermen struggled to catch fish until Jesus intervened. “Your Majesty, the pastors have spoken from Luke 5. Just like they gave an example of fishermen failing to catch fish, yet it was God who was keeping them from catching the fishing,” she said.
