MBABANE-Nobuhle Dlamini has surged into title contention after a clinical opening round at the Jabra Ladies Classic this afternoon.
The Eswatini star carded a three-under-par 69 at Killarney Country Club in Johannesburg, carrying the momentum from her recent top-four finish in Cape Town.
Starting her round on the 10th tee, Dlamini showed veteran composure to navigate the challenging layout and finish the day in a six-way tie for second place. She sits just two strokes adrift of the early pace-setter, Kristyna Napoleaova of the Czech Republic, who set the clubhouse target with a five-under-par 67.
Her current form suggests any early-season rust is gone, especially after she secured a gritty T4 finish at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge at Hummewood and a testing 25th-place finish at the NTT DATA Ladies Pro-Am at Fancourt. Now firmly in the hunt for her first victory of the 2026 campaign, she joins a competitive field of 77 golfers for the three-round event. With a R1 million prize purse on the line, the tournament—which teed off on today (March 11) and concludes on Friday (March 13) will be a true test of nerves for the Eswatini ace.
