MBABANE – Eswatini’s golden girl of the greens, Nobuhle Dlamini, has once again proved why she is the pride of the kingdom.
This follows her hard-fought top 5 finish at the 2026 Jabra Ladies Classic. Competing at the prestigious Killarney Country Club in Johannesburg from March 11 to 13, the Mbabane-born professional golfer continued her scintillating form on the Sunshine Ladies Tour, standing tall against a world-class field of over 120 golfers.
Dlamini’s journey throughout the three-day tournament was a masterclass in resilience and tactical play. She ignited her campaign in the opening round with a clinical 69 (-3), navigating the tight fairways of Killarney with precision to sit just two strokes off the pace. Despite the shifting weather conditions in the second round, Dlamini stayed composed, grinding out a steady performance to keep herself within striking distance of the leaders.
By the final round yesterday, she showed her veteran experience, matching the tournament’s intensity to finish with a cumulative score of seven-under-par, comfortably securing a tie for fifth place.
This performance is a testament to Dlamini’s incredible consistency this season. Coming into this week, she had already signalled her intentions with a string of high-pressure finishes. In her past three tournaments, she has been a permanent fixture at the top of the leaderboard, having claimed a T4 at the Standard Bank Ladies Open, a strong showing at the NTT DATA Ladies Pro-Am and an opening T4 at the SuperSport Ladies Challenge.
While the Eswatini star dominated the local conversation, the ultimate glory went to French rookie Lois Lau, who claimed her maiden professional title after a dramatic three-way play-off against Scotland’s Lorna McClymont and South Africa’s Danielle du Toit. The victory for Lau came after all three finished the regulation 54 holes at nine-under-par.
With a massive E1 million prize purse on the line, the Jabra Ladies Classic once again lived up to its reputation as a premier event on the African continent. For Nobuhle, this result not only adds to her career earnings but further boosts her standing in the Investec Order of Merit, proving that a trophy lift is surely just around the corner for the pride of Mbabane.
