International no, Eswatini yes: Sun-El Musician prioritises Impisi Rally

MBABANE – The 11th edition of the Impisi Rally was officially launched at Manzini Hot Bar, on Wednesday.

 The premier biking event returns to the Mavuso Trade Centre from May 1 to 3, 2026.The launch was supported by event partners Manzini Hot Bar, the Municipal Council of Manzini, Melting C Events, the Hyena Club and various performing artists.

Phumlani Matse, the Information and Communications Manager, representing the Municipal Council of Manzini, mentioned that the council has supported the event for the past four years by donating foodstuffs, water and hygiene products to eight of its care points.

“Impisi rally contributes to the economic growth of our city. Tourism is a major variable in the equation of our economics and Impisi Rally is one of the major events in this topic,” he said.

He elaborated that the rally is happening at an exciting time, where the city is undergoing a transition.“Exciting Capital projects are underway. Manzini Mall, Arch Mall, as well as a major uplift of our road network, all of which mean a more convenient city for such as the Impisi Rally, as they will find the road pleasant for the sport and smooth, we have hopes that on April 26 , the on-going constructions will be done,” he added.

According to Culolam, Director of Melting C Events, the entity managing the entertainment component of the event, the rally will feature a total of 22 performing artists.

The line-up is dominated by local talent, with 19 of the performers being Eswatini-based artists.

South African producer and DJ Sun-El Musician is set to headline the event. This marks the artist’s first appearance at a biking rally. Culolam indicated that Sun-El Musician declined eight international bookings to prioritise his performance at the Impisi Rally.
