MBABANE – Local comedic duo Gogo and S’lwane have announced their invitation to the pioneering African Social Media Influencer Summit.

The high-profile event is set to take place from today until tomorrow at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The summit features a strictly by invitation troupe of Africa’s foremost digital voices, including Botswana’s viral sensation William Last KRM and Kenyan travel maestro Wodemaya. The duo left the country on April 5 and arrived safely yesterday.

The two-day convergence aims to gather approximately 200 of the continent’s most impactful creators to discuss harnessing the power of social media to promote Pan-Africanism, showcase African development and foster continental unity through strategic influence.

For Gogo and S’lwane, the invitation serves as a significant milestone in their growing footprint in the regional creative economy. As the invitation letter reads: “We have been following your incredible journey as Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane and we are impressed by your artistry and the way you connect with millions through Swati-craziness and pan-African humour.”

The announcement was paired with a live, unscripted fundraising drive during their Comedy set at ‘Our Typa One Man Show’ this past weekend. In a display of genuine connection with their audience, the duo successfully raised enough funds to cover return flights, four days of accommodation and meals for their content manager.

This additional team member will join them in Addis Ababa to ensure real-time reporting and documentation of their journey.

Speaking on the importance of the trip, S’lwane expressed a deep desire for professional growth. “We are humbled, honoured and beyond excited to be part of this game-changing event, we see the summit as the perfect opportunity for us to learn how some of Africa’s foremost influencers and content creators attained that status, it is simply an opportunity for us to meet, engage and network amongst these exciting human case studies of human excellence.
