MBABANE – Gospel powerhouse, Nothando Hlophe has achieved an astounding digital milestone, as her ‘Methodist Medley’ has gained a staggering fifteen million views on YouTube.

The success of the track, taken from her new album ‘A New Dawn’, is a clear indication that authentic, heartfelt worship music continues to echo deeply and inspires millions across the continent.

The live recording, characterised by Hlophe's signature powerhouse vocals and dynamic band, bridges the gap between traditional church worship and contemporary Gospel soundscapes. The track’s ascent has been nothing short of meteoric. It quickly garnered an initial 100 000 views within its first seven days before soaring past the one million and four million view marks in a space of a few weeks.

The song’s lyrics, which focus on themes of divine protection and spiritual refuge, strike a universal chord. The song has become a staple on social media platforms like TikTok and Facebook, where its sound is widely used in reels and testimonies, amplifying its reach far beyond Eswatini's borders.

The YouTube triumph arrives in the midst of a ground-breaking season for Hlophe, confirming her position as a force in African Gospel music. Continental Recognition: She clinched the highly prestigious Best of Africa Gospel Artist Award at the 18th SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards in South Africa, demonstrating her growing influence on the continent.

National Dominance: The song itself won the Best Song of the Year during the 2025 National Gospel Music Awards, where Hlophe also swept two more major awards: Best Gospel Artist and Best Gospel Album for her project, A New Dawn.

The Gospel powerhouse is fulfilling a significant demand in the market, a demand for spiritually grounded music that blends heritage with heartfelt worship. There has been a gap in the space of traditional yet fresh Gospel expressions and this medley has stepped in to meet that need.
