MBABANE – Rise Mpumalanga Talent founder, Phindy ‘The Real Queen’, has selected a group of talented pupils to perform alongside her during her upcoming shows.

This following a scouting initiative at the Inyatsi Schools Arts and Culture Competition.

Phindy was officially invited by the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) to scout for talent across the country, as part of the council’s ongoing efforts to uplift the local creative industry. The talent search was conducted across five different zones where the school regional elimination competitions took place, including in Pigg’s Peak,  EFA Technical Centre, Lobamba, King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, Nhlangano,  Prince of Wales Sports Ground in Mbabane and Simunye.

The South African dancer and actor focused her search on pupils specialising in dance, with a particular emphasis on Kwaito dance. Reflecting on the talent displayed by the learners, Phindy expressed her admiration for the standard of performance in the country.

She invoked a slogan previously shared with the late Moses from Mpumalanga to describe the dance energy, stating, ‘Burikiriki in Eswatini.’

The selected pupils will secure an opportunity to share the stage with Phindy during her professional showcases. According to the artist, the initiative aims to provide international exposure and professional experience to young Eswatini performers.

ENCAC facilitated the collaboration to strengthen cross-border cultural exchange and to create tangible career pathways for schoolgoing youth within the arts sector.
