MBABANE – Nsingizini Hotspurs have fired an ominous warning shot to their rivals, if the latest ripples from the transfer market are anything to go by.
The Shiselweni-based outfit, who are fresh from a spectacular treble-winning campaign, in which they lifted the 8Bet Trade Fair Cup, the Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accidents Fund (SMVAF)-sponsored Ingwenyama Cup and successfully retained their league crown, are leaving nothing to chance ahead of their return to the continental stage.
Hotspurs will once again fly Eswatini’s flag in the TotalEnergies Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
According to official CAF communiqués, the preliminary rounds of Africa’s premier club competition are scheduled to run from September 4-14, 2026. In a move that offers breathing room to sides across the continent, governing body CAF has extended the club licensing application deadline from June 30 to July 25, giving teams critical additional time to meet mandatory continental requirements.
Nsingizini’s ambitious intent has been underlined by a ruthless raid on domestic rivals Moneni Pirates, who confirmed a double departure yesterday.
Highly-rated former Sihlangu centre-back Mthobisi ‘Mvala’ Zwane has completed a permanent switch to the two-time MTN Premier League champions. While Pirates’ official channels maintained the transfer was wrapped up for an ‘undisclosed fee’, impeccable industry insiders suggest the deal is valued in the region of E150 000.
