The Woman Farmer Foundation (WFF) is proud to announce the launch of the 18th annual Woman Farmer of The Year Competition (WOFACO) for 2025, a national initiative dedicated to empowering and celebrating women in agriculture across Eswatini.

This prestigious competition continues to serve as a platform for visibility, growth and transformation for women farmers, including both youth and adults.
Now a cornerstone of the national agricultural calendar, the competition highlights excellence in farming while linking participants to markets, mentorship and enterprise development. Over the years, it has grown beyond being a contest, it has become a powerful movement fostering leadership, innovation and inclusion in the agricultural sector.

Speaking on the importance of the competition, Programmes Officer at WFF Sebenele Zwane, emphasised that: “The Woman Farmer Competition is not only about celebrating outstanding women in agriculture, it is about unlocking opportunities. Participants gain exposure, access to networks and most importantly, they are empowered with knowledge that transforms their agribusinesses. We encourage women from all walks of life to step forward and take part.”
The foundation is actively engaging women farmers through participation in the ongoing Regional Agricultural Shows hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture. The foundation has already taken part in shows in the Hhohho and Manzini regions and will be present at the upcoming events in Shiselweni tomorrow, at Kontshingila Southern RDA and in the Lubombo Region on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at KaLanga RDA, as well on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Siphofaneni RDA.

Entries for WOFACO 2025 are now open, with the application deadline set for Thursday, July 31, 2025. Women farmers from across Eswatini are strongly encouraged to apply and take advantage of this life-changing opportunity both the youth and adults.

Application forms are readily available at agricultural retail outlets such as Khuba Traders and Swaziland Agricultural Supplies in Manzini, at all Rural Development Area (RDAs) offices nationwide and at the WFF offices at Sidvokodvo, Riders Ranch.
In addition to the grand prizes awarded to the top 10 winners in youth and adult categories, all participants will receive consolidation prizes, recognising their commitment, effort and contribution to the agricultural sector.

The foundation remains steadfast in its mission to build resilient, innovative and business-minded women in agriculture. The competition is more than recognition; it’s a gateway to new opportunities, partnerships and sustainable growth.
