MBABANE – All is set for a thrilling weekend of Motocross and Enduro fans as round four of the championships is just days away.
In Motocross events, riders race bar-to-bar on a closed, man-made dirt circuit featuring massive jumps, berms and rhythm sections.
Enduro, on the other hand, is a test of survival, navigation and sustained endurance. Riders tackle natural, rugged outdoor terrain such as deep forests, mountains, rocks, river crossings and steep mud climbs.
The Eswatini Motocross Association (EMA) will stage the event on Sunday at the Exodus MX Track in Dwaleni, with festivities starting at 8am. Riders will begin with warm-up sessions and track familiarisation before the fierce showdowns commence.
After a competitive round three on Sunday June 21, riders will head into the weekend determined to extend their dominance.
In the MX1 class, Blake Young delivered a perfect performance with two heat wins for maximum points, ending the reign of Vaughn Sales. On his return to the track, Sales will want to reclaim his top spot after showing strong consistency in finishing second overall.
Meanwhile, Matthew van Zuydam continued his impressive form, topping both the MX3 and Enduro Pro classes.
He will be expected to carry that momentum following his recent international assignments. In the junior categories, Mckay Irwin, Aaron van Wyk and Taye Du Pont all secured maximum points with double heat victories.
The Enduro WOW class saw Cameron Geldard take a comfortable win, while the Pro 65cc category produced a tight battle, with Dreyvan Honwin edging out Rorke Allmark.
Fans can anticipate intense rivalries as riders battle to protect their standings or close the gap on the leaders, with the season now nearing its climax.
