MBABANE – Moneni Pirates and Mbabane Highlanders have dramatically gatecrashed the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Charity Cup voting race, shaking up the upper echelons of the latest standings.
This is according to the latest vote count released by PLE Charity Cup Public Relations Officer, Themba ‘Mthimbawawa’ Xaba.
The updated tallies reveal major shifts in the top five. While Manzini Wanderers held second place as of last Friday, Moneni Pirates and Mbabane Highlanders have now muscled their way into the top three.
Meanwhile, the overall leaderboard continues to be commanded by MulaSport National First Division side Viva Stumbo XI, who are setting the pace with a dominant 1,027 votes and a 41.3 per cent vote share.
As the race intensifies, the tournament promises a thrilling spectacle.
The Charity Cup is traditionally designed to usher in the new football season, using supporters’ votes through community mobilisation to determine participating clubs.
The format traditionally brings together a mix of elite Premier League teams and National First Division sides, giving supporters the ultimate power to push their favourite clubs into the prestigious season-opening showdown.
