MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders AM FC coach Floyd ‘Mourinho’ Mogale has reportedly resigned from his position and is heading back to South Africa.

Sources close to the MTN Premier League side confirmed his departure, saying the former Mamelodi Sundowns scout informed players of his decision after a training session.

“He told the players after training, and we were surprised by the turn of events,” a source close to the team said.

Mogale joined the capital city giants on July 14, 2026, replacing fellow South African Selaotse ‘Sly’ Mosala, who left to take charge of rivals Moneni Pirates.

His reported departure comes after a mixed start to Highlanders’ league campaign, with the team recording one win, one draw and two defeats in their last four matches.

The Black Bull suffered consecutive losses, going down 2-0 to Royal Leopard on October 10 before losing 1-0 to Nsingizini Hotspurs on October 17.

Before the back-to-back defeats, Highlanders had registered an emphatic 4-1 victory over Amawele on October 3 and played to a goalless draw against Green Mamba on September 19.

The results leave questions over the team’s technical direction as the 2026/27 campaign progresses, although it remains unclear whether the recent losses had any bearing on Mogale’s reported decision to leave.

The coach arrived with considerable South African Premier Soccer League experience, having previously worked with clubs including Black Leopards, Chippa United, Free State Stars and Royal AM.

Highlanders reluctantly confirmed the exit last night.
