MBABANE – Eswatini, Content creators Gogo and S’lwane represented Eswatini at the 4th Content Creators Awards sponsored by Samsung at The Galleria, Sandton, this past weekend.

The awards are about celebrating the creators who shape culture. Founded to champion the people shaping culture in real time, the Content Creator Awards is a not-for-profit platform dedicated to recognising, celebrating and professionalising South Africa’s creator economy. It’s more than trophies; it’s the definitive industry benchmark, honouring originality, consistency and authentic influence across digital platforms.

The presence of Eswatini creators shows that the local creative scene is headed in the right direction. The duo got an opportunity to mingle with South African creators at the ceremony.

In an interview with the creators, they said being a part of the gathering was an empowering outing for them, which was the entire objective in them honouring the event. “We believe the world is our oyster and this oyster is better enjoyed through the company of those who season it with their different energies and talents.

‘‘We went there to learn from some of the best, globally and in one of the most lucrative and fastest growing creator economies and to be the best, we are intentional about learning from the best. And of course, one’s network is their net worth and there’s us in the thick and thin of all this; the event gave us a goldmine of networking opportunities, from which there are exciting collaborations and other things lined up,” said the duo. When asked what is one thing they learnt from being a part of the ceremony is, the creators said that it was that their story matters and they have a seat at the table. “Being recognised by some of the biggest creators in the game, having them stop us and tell us they see us, our story matters and how much they love our work reminded us why we started this thing and why we do it every day,” they said.

The duo also added that the content creation is not the next economy wave or  just a buzzword, but it is the present and it is only about to get better. “Creation is a lucrative and game changer for many economies and we are happy to be at the nervous system of the local scenario.

We have some exciting collaborations lined up, and for now, we can only reveal that – but the festive will be very nice on our socials; please keep an eye,” concluded the duo.
