MBABANE – Eswatini attracted E1.85 billion in new investment projects and E170 million in expansion projects during the second quarter, expected to support 147 jobs at full capacity.
The projects were facilitated by the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA), according to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Trade’s Second Quarter Performance Report for the 2026/27 financial year, covering July to September 2026.
The report, presented under the portfolio of Minister Manqoba Khumalo, highlights progress in investment promotion, company registration, trade facilitation, enterprise development, industrialisation and the regulation of commercial activities.
EIPA also undertook five outward investment promotion missions to Zimbabwe, South Africa and Zambia to engage potential investors and explore opportunities for investment and trade cooperation. Cumulative potential export orders increased to E3 million during the reporting period.
The authority also supported six additional exporters and facilitated six business-to-business linkages. Its trade-promotion activities reached more than 296 companies, while 2 200 participants attended seminars held during the Eswatini International Trade Fair.
On digital market access, EIPA launched and handed over the buyeswatini.shop platform, which had onboarded 29 sellers and recorded 40 transactions.
The Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre website and digital booking platform were also completed, providing businesses with an additional channel to access exhibition facilities and related services.
