FNB Eswatini invested over E5.4 million in corporate social investment (CSI) and sponsorship initiatives during its 2025/2026 financial year, while growing its active customer base by 9.9 per cent.

The investment, which covered the financial year ended June 2026, is outlined in the bank’s newly released Integrated Annual Report (IAR), highlighting its contribution to community development, financial inclusion and business growth.

According to the report, over E3.4 million was disbursed through the FNB Foundation to support various community initiatives, including the SOS Children’s Village Child-Headed Households Programme and the rehabilitation of a six-classroom block at St Paul’s Primary School in Manzini.

The bank also channelled support through its sponsorship wing, backing initiatives such as the 2025 Temvelo Awards.

Its Employee Volunteer Programme extended assistance to public health facilities and schools through partnerships with Pick n Pay Lojaf and Buy ‘n Save SPAR.

Working with Pick n Pay Lojaf, the programme provided newborn clothes and maternity essentials valued at E80 000, which were distributed equally among 11 public health facilities across the country, benefiting approximately 250 newborns.

Another initiative, undertaken in partnership with Buy ‘n Save SPAR, saw the bank hand over school shoes worth E52 950 to 356 underprivileged children attending 12 public schools.

FNB Eswatini Chief Executive Officer Thokozani ‘TK’ Dlamini said the bank intended to accelerate its inclusivity efforts to extend its services to more emaSwati.

He said the bank had spent the past 30 years building a reputation as an institution committed to helping people, adding that its evolving purpose was centred on making financial assistance and services accessible to everyone.

Dlamini said the bank was diversifying its offerings to provide more customised and relevant solutions, with the objective of building a digitally enabled business capable of serving a wider spectrum of financial needs.

Customer base increases by 9.9%

MBABANE – The bank recorded growth across all three of its business segments, with its active customer base increasing by 9.9 per cent compared to the 2024/2025 financial year.

Retail primary-banked customers increased by 10 per cent, while the Commercial and Corporate and Investment Banking customer bases grew by seven per cent and 17.1 per cent, respectively.

The report further shows that FNB Eswatini supported over 9 000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through lending and related business support during the financial year.

Among the interventions was the expansion of its Scored Lending limit from E500 000 to approximately E1.5 million, improving access to finance through faster, data-driven credit decisions.

The bank also introduced Flexible Short-Term Deposits, giving customers greater flexibility in managing surplus liquidity, and successfully piloted BizHub, a digitally enabled relationship banking model aimed at strengthening customer engagement and improving service accessibility for SMEs.

FNB Eswatini CEO Thokozani ‘TK’Dlamini said customer-centricity remained central to the bank’s innovation strategy, with its approach focused on attracting new customers while deepening relationships with existing ones.

On financial inclusion, the bank reached over 6 000 previously underbanked customers through its SicaloZero account.

The entry-level transactional account carries no monthly account fee and is designed for individuals earning up to E10 000 per month, including informal traders.

FNB Eswatini’s distribution network comprises 15 branches, over 120 automated teller machines (ATMs) and automated deposit terminals (ADTs), as well as more than 800 active CashPlus agents countrywide.
