Mbabane – Dancer and dynamic master of ceremonies, Slitchie, achieved a significant milestone this weekend when she performed alongside Nkosazana Daughter at Amigos Palace in Polokwane.
Her participation marks another step forward in her burgeoning career, which continues to garner recognition across the region. Nosihle Mabuya, popularly known as Slitchie The Dancer, has built a reputation for her captivating dance skills. Over the years, she has shared stages with notable artists including DJ Tira, Duncan, Big Zulu and Dladla Mshunqisi. She describes herself as an ‘amicable jewel’ with a clear drive to succeed. Earlier this year, she gained further prominence as one of the dancers for Tom London during her stint on Big Brother Mzansi.
The opportunity to perform with Nkosazana Daughter came this past weekend, where she joined three other South African dancers. She attributed her selection to divine intervention, expressing her gratitude to God for enabling her to be part of the performance. “People are sad because they don’t know God. This is a dream coming true. I’ll forever be grateful,” she said.
In a previous interview, Slitchie shared the inspiration behind her love for dance. She revealed that her journey began as a hobby, making dance videos for fun and sharing them on social media. “People started commenting and urging me to take it seriously. That’s when I committed myself to dance, and everything started to fall in place. The love and faith that people have shown in me motivate me every day,” she said.
She also cited her role models, revealing that her admiration for Kamo Mphela has played a significant part in her development. “Kamo has so much energy, she’s crazy and free-spirited just like me.
“I hope to work with her one day,” she said. Earlier in her career, she looked up to Babes Wodumo, whose dance moves and stage presence inspired her to pursue her passion seriously.
Slitchie’s journey from social media videos to performing on regional stages exemplifies her dedication and talent. Her story resonates with aspiring dancers across Eswatini and the neighbouring countries, illustrating that perseverance and faith can turn dreams into reality.
