MBABANE – A trophy at last!

Thando Langa, once thought to have reached the twilight of his football career, has resurrected his fortunes with Nsingizini Hotspurs, clinching a long-awaited trophy.

Just weeks ago, headlines showed Langa’s departure from Mbabane Highlanders after failed contract negotiations led to a mutual parting of ways.

Many feared he would remain club-less, but MTN Premier League champions Nsingizini Hotspurs swiftly offered him a lifeline to revive his career on the pitch.

“Just over a week ago, I received a call inviting me to a meeting where an ambitious project was pitched to me,” Langa shared on his Facebook page.

“I never imagined that within days, I’d have a gold medal gleaming around my neck—my first in over 13 years in Eswatini’s Premier League.”

Expressing gratitude, Langa added: “To those sending support, it’s deeply appreciated. Thank you, Nsingizini Hotspurs FC, for the warm welcome at this fiercely ambitious club. I’m eager for a season defined by graft and glory.”

Langa’s journey began humbly. At 18, he struggled for game time at Ludzeludze Killers in the Manzini Super League, prompting a loan move to Amajita in the Kwaluseni Promotion League.

There, his potential caught the eye of Manzini Sea Birds’ scouts, who believed he was destined for the Premier League.

Killers facilitated the transfer and Langa spent a decade with Sea Birds, yet silverware eluded him.  A fresh chapter opened when Manzini Wanderers recruited him.
