MBABANE – South African musician Touchline is featured on Sarnilo’s new extended playlist (EP).

Rising Eswatini-born artist Sarnilo steps into a new chapter of her artistry with the release of her highly-anticipated sophomore EP, ‘Makuhwalala’, a title bearing references to ‘sunset’ or ‘when it gets dark.’

The project is a six-track soul-stirring body of work that captures the beauty, warmth and melancholy of transition where endings meet beginnings and love and loss intertwine beneath a glowing sky. Blending soul and Afrocentric rhythms, ‘Makuhwalala’ invites listeners into Sarnilo’s sonic universe rich with emotion, groove and storytelling. The EP explores themes of love, loss, self-discovery and emotional surrender, continuing the artistic depth that has become her signature.

Speaking about the project, Sarnilo shares: ‘Makuhwalala’ reflects change, when the sun sets to invite the dark, the moments when something beautiful fades, but in that fading, something new is born. It’s a celebration of transformation, of learning to let go with grace.”

The EP features collaborations with some of Eswatini and South Africa’s most gifted musicians and producers such as: Tru Hitz, Salie Sousa, Lethumusa, Brainz, Touchline, Mzwaa and Grixxly, who added beautiful compositions that bring the sunset theme to life. Following her single ‘Don’t Be Shy’ featuring legendary artist Nana Magagula, this release marks another bold step in Sarnilo’s evolution, one that solidifies her place as one of the region’s most captivating new voices.  ‘Makuhwalala’ is out now on all streaming platforms.

Touchline, born Thabo Mahlwele, is a South African rapper, singer and songwriter known for his introspective lyrics and authentic storytelling, often chronicling life in the townships.

He was born in Johannesburg and gained recognition in the late 2010s for blending Hip Hop with Trap and RnB.

His career includes acclaimed projects like ‘18’ and ‘SUD,’ and he is celebrated for his lyrical honesty and contribution to the new generation of South African Hip Hop.

Sarnilo was recently mentioned among ‘songs you need to listen to now’ by OkayAfrica.

With a sound she describes as captivating, experimental and emotional, Sarnilo has collaborated with Austrian producer Aramboa and South African rapper-poet Zuluboy.

Her performances at MTN Bushfire and Luju Festival have earned her growing recognition and she recently represented Eswatini at a Spotify Writers Camp in Cape Town, collaborating with some of Africa’s brightest emerging talents.
