EZULWINI – The momentum continues for MTN Premier League log leaders, Nsingizini Hotspurs, as their Captain, Neliswa ‘Tiger’ Dlamini, has won the Player of the Month award for November.

Dlamini was named the winner yesterday at MTN Eswatini headquarters, Mahlalekhukwini House, where he received a replica cheque for E7 000 and a trophy. This achievement makes him the second contender for the Player of the Season award, following Rangers’ Hleliso Gamedze, who scooped the honour for the month of October.

The midfielder was in contention for this gong with Ezulwini United shot-stopper, Siyabonga Magagula and Tabankulu Celtics striker, Malangeni Dlamini. Ezulwini United finished November unbeaten, while the Celtics star made waves by grabbing a hat-trick against eight-time MTN Premier League winners Royal Leopard, among his top achievements.

However, the midfielder, who has since assumed an attacking role at his club, boasts three goals; including a brace and an assist against Malanti Chiefs as well as the stunning winner against Manzini Sea Birds. Mandla Qhogi’s side also climbed to the summit of the log during this month, recording wins in four games played, except for an outstanding October fixture against Celtics.

The captain thanked Coach Qhogi for believing in him, as well as his teammates. He also attributes the continental interclub experience to having contributed to his consistent performance.

“This award has challenged me to work hard throughout the season as the league is so competitive. There is no small team now and results are what count,” he said.

It is worth noting that ‘Tiger’ has demonstrated exceptional consistency in performance over the past two seasons. Last season, he won a Player of the Month award and his overall form in the 2023/24 season saw him being named the Player of the Season while still at Mbabane Swallows.
