MBABANE – Khayelihle ‘Karas’ Dlamini, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Mbabane Highlanders, has stepped down from his role due to mounting work commitments.

The announcement, confirmed by Dlamini himself yesterday, marks the end of a brief but impactful tenure at the club, where he returned to contribute his expertise to the ‘Bull’ family.

Dlamini, a revered figure in local football circles, re-joined Mbabane Highlanders as PRO in October 2025, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his playing days and passion for the game.

His return was hailed as a boost for the club, which is currently led by its first female President, Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize.

However, the demands of the position proved challenging to balance with his other professional obligations. “Yes, it’s true. It was my decision to resign, and it was a rather personal one – nothing more to it,” Dlamini stated in confirmation.

He elaborated on the time constraints that influenced his choice, explaining that his duties at Highlanders often clashed with his external engagements.

“I have very limited time because of other engagements. It was hard to execute my duties based on that. When I arrived, I told myself I would see and manage, but I then saw that I had a challenge,” he continued.

The conflict extended beyond weekdays, with weekends proving equally demanding. Dlamini emphasised the need for honesty in assessing his capacity. “This was not just during the week, when I felt like I had limited time, but on weekends too. It called for me to be honest with myself and step down,” he added.

Despite his departure, Dlamini’s affinity for football remains undiminished. When asked about a potential return to the sport, he affirmed his deep-rooted connection. “I am a football person and I’m sure I will always be part of football. With the future, you never know,” said Dlamini.
