MBABANE – The global footprint of Southern African Gospel music continues to expand as legendary South African artist and producer Sipho Makhabane confirms his headlining slot at the upcoming Grateful Experience concert in the United Kingdom.
Makhabane, affectionately known as ‘Big Fish’ in the music industry, will share the stage with UK-based Zimbabwean Gospel sensation Eleana Makombe for what is being billed as a landmark spiritual showcase on May 30 in London.
The Grateful Experience brand, curated by Eleana Makombe Music, has become a significant fixture in the UK Christian community as it enters its fourth iteration. The confirmation of Big Fish, a veteran with a career spanning over three decades and a catalogue of multi-platinum hits elevates the profile of the event.
The concert serves as a centrepiece for the Grateful Experience 4.0 tour. Makombe, who has previously collaborated with giants such as Bishop Benjamin Dube, has positioned this year’s theme around
‘The Awakening’, focusing on a post-pandemic revival of congregational worship.
In an interview, Big Fish revealed that this is not his first trip to the United Kingdom as he has performed there in the past. “My performance in the United Kingdom will follow my performance in Zimbabwe will follow my previous performance that took place in December 6, 2025 in Zimbabwe where I was invited by Eleana,” he said.
