SIDVOKODVO – MulaSport Betting Company and the ESRC splashed a minimum of E300 000 to honour sporting excellence at the MulaSport National Sports Awards.

The collective prize package was distributed among winners across all categories during a colourful ceremony held at The Luke Commission (TLC) Auditorium Hall on Thursday night. The event was attended by a sizeable crowd of influential figures from the Eswatini sporting fraternity, including Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima, Sports Portfolio Committee Chairman and Dvokodvweni MP Sifiso ‘Haizo’ Shabalala and MulaSport Managing Director (MD) Khanyi Magagula.

Eswatini Sports and Recreation Council (ESRC) CEO Dr Darius Dlomo confirmed the stakes when explaining the selection criteria.

“Each winner will take home E20 000. I am also glad to announce that there is a consolation prize of E2 000 for the runners-up,” he said.

In his remarks, Nzima lauded the increasing number of podium finishers on international stages.

“These awards serve as an important platform to recognise, honour and celebrate excellence in sport.

They form part of the broader National Sports Rewards Programme, which also includes induction into the National Sports Hall of Fame every decade, as well as instant monetary incentives for podium achievements at recognised international competitions,” he noted. During the ceremony, athlete Ncamiso Hlatjwako was announced as the 2025 Outstanding Senior Sportsman, earning E20 000, a trophy and a branded blazer.

He beat Thokozani Nhlabatsi (equestrian) and Sihlelelwe Matsebula (taekwondo), who each received E2 000.
