We often expect faith to be found in calm anticipation, but true connection to God is frequently forged through our uncertainty.
This week, we look at the life of someone who has navigated this challenging spiritual terrain. At just 23, Esihle Ndlovu, from the Holy of Holies Inter-dimensional Church, shares her journey of faith and doubt that has defined her commitment. Ndlovu’s divine encounter was wholly unexpected, arriving precisely at a moment of personal confusion, deep searching and the quiet, internal battles she kept hidden from the world.
“I was in church when my heart finally slowed down enough to hear Him,” she shared in her reflection. This life-changing moment, as she recalled, felt like an intimate, personal visitation. “God seemed to meet me exactly where I was – broken, tired and unsure of myself, making His presence known through a gentle yet unmistakable conviction. That experience became the definitive starting point of my enduring journey with Christ,” Ndlovu says.
Since that initial encounter, Ndlovu’s walk of faith has been an evolving mixture of spiritual growth, deep healing, abundant blessings, invaluable lessons and sustaining grace. She has learnt that embracing life with Christ does not equate to a sudden, unrealistic perfection; rather, it guarantees that she will never have to navigate life’s complexities alone.
Ndlovu now dedicates her time and talent to the praise and worship team, viewing her role as far more than mere performance. Her prayer is that God continues to advance her spiritual development. According to her: “Singing transcends the technical aspects of the voice; it is, first and foremost, a ministry. I believe that God has entrusted me with the sacred calling to be a fisher of souls, a person tasked with spreading His word and truth through the very songs I lift in worship.”
Lately, God has been teaching Ndlovu a deeper level of trust, urging her to surrender those elements of life that she cannot control, and to consistently find her peace within the certainty of His promises. “Even during those inevitable seasons where I felt distant or overwhelmed, He relentlessly draws me back, gently, reminding me of the unshakeable stability of His love,” she testifies. Adding, Ndlovu shares that the specific song that consistently fortifies her faith and deepens her spiritual walk is ‘Jesu Lidwala’ by Lusanda Beja.
This track acts as a powerful anchor, reminding her of God’s nature in her life and keeping her firmly grounded in His presence.
For anyone who is still earnestly seeking the Lord, Esihle offers an empowering word of encouragement: “Don’t stop searching.” She firmly believes that God reveals Himself to people in an astonishing variety of ways—at different times and in unexpected places—but that He is always faithful to show up.
Her advice is to open the heart, even when it feels scared or uncertain, and to offer up a whispered prayer, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. God, she asserts, hears every word. Her final, stirring message is to keep seeking, keep knocking and keep believing, assuring others that their own life-changing encounter with the divine will certainly come.
