In the heart of Mbabane, Nkoyoyo, young entrepreneur Sikhetsiso Dlamini, also known as Tsiso, is building a creative business that blends beauty, fashion and handmade artistry. Through passion and determination, she is turning simple ideas into meaningful products and services that allow people to express their personal style.
“I am a young entrepreneur based in Mbabane, Nkoyoyo. I run a small creative business where I offer nail services and make handmade fashion and décor items such as scrunchies, headbands, Pinterest-inspired frames and dyed clothes,” she said. “My business focuses on creativity, beauty and affordable handmade products that allow people to express their personal style,” she added.
Her vision is to grow her small business into a well-recognised creative brand that empowers young people, especially women, to start their own businesses and use their creativity to generate income. My mission is to provide quality beauty services and handmade products, while creating a positive and inspiring space where creativity and entrepreneurship can thrive. Like many entrepreneurial journeys, Dlamini’s business began with humble beginnings. Her business started very small from home with basic materials and a passion for creating. Over time, through dedication, learning and support from clients, it has grown and continues to reach more people who appreciate handmade and creative products.
Today, her business offers a range of services and products. “My business provides nail services and handmade products including scrunchies, headbands, Pinterest frames, and uniquely dyed clothing pieces”, she explained.
For Dlamini, maintaining a positive environment is an important part of her business philosophy.
she believes in maintaining a positive mindset, treating clients with kindness and creating a welcoming environment. She also stays motivated by reminding herself why she started and by celebrating even the small wins in the business journey.
As a leader, she describes herself as passionate and driven by creativity.
“I consider myself a passionate and creative leader who believes in learning, growing and inspiring others through my work and determination”, she said. Client satisfaction remains at the centre of her work. She listens to her clients’ needs, ensure she delivers quality work and always aim to create a friendly and comfortable experience for them.
To aspiring executive directors and entrepreneurs, Tsiso shares honest advice about the journey of building something from the ground up.
“I would encourage them to stay consistent, believe in their vision, and not be afraid to start small. The journey comes with challenges such as financial struggles, competition, and self-doubt, but persistence and passion help overcome them,” she said.Reflecting on her journey so far, she acknowledges that the experience has shaped her in unexpected ways.
“I always had dreams of doing something creative, but I did not imagine how meaningful the journey would become. It has taught me resilience, independence, and confidence,” she said.
Her motivation continues to come from a deep desire to grow and inspire others.
Her biggest driving factor is the desire to grow, become independent, and inspire other young people to believe that small ideas can turn into successful businesses. Outside of her daily work, Tsiso continues to develop her knowledge and mindset.
