From humble beginnings, young businesswoman Beketele Xaba has grown into a determined young entrepreneur running a dual business in Mbabane, Sidvwashini, offering meat supply services and laundry solutions that continue to gain community recognition.

Xaba sells fresh beef, pork and wors while also operating a reliable laundry business that caters to clients seeking affordable and quality household solutions. She is currently working on expanding her business portfolio with a new venture expected to launch before the end of the year.

Her vision is clear and ambitious; to grow her brand into a household name in Eswatini, recognised for delivering quality food products and dependable services that improve everyday living for the community. Her mission aligns closely with this goal, focusing on supplying fresh, high-quality meat and clean laundry services at affordable prices, while maintaining respect and dignity for every customer she serves.

Her laundry business began in an equally modest way, relying on access to a friend’s washing machine, where she contributed to utilities and often assisted by handwashing clothes when necessary. Through persistence, she has now acquired her own 18kg washing machine and a deep freezer capable of storing an entire cow, significantly expanding her capacity.

Xaba attributes the growth of her business to discipline, gratitude and consistency. She maintains that staying focused on long-term goals and appreciating small progress has helped her remain motivated despite challenges. According to her, leadership in business is about willingness to do the hard work and understanding every aspect of the operation, from manual labour to stock management.

Customer satisfaction remains central to her operations. She emphasises respect, friendliness and equal treatment to all clients as key principles that keep her clientele loyal and satisfied.

Reflecting on her journey, Xaba notes that she did not initially foresee the level of progress she has achieved today. While she acknowledges being comfortable, she believes she is only at the beginning stages of a larger vision.

Her early sacrifices, investing personal funds into equipment and stock instead of immediate personal comfort, have played a critical role in shaping her current success.

She advises aspiring entrepreneurs to remain persistent regardless of challenges, stressing the importance of financial discipline and emotional resilience when dealing with people and business pressures. “Running a business is not a smooth journey,” she implies, “but consistency and patience are key to long-term success.”

She is currently revisiting Public Relations materials and motivational literature to refine her marketing approach and strengthen both her business strategy and personal development.

From a simple idea funded by determination to a growing enterprise serving her community, Xaba’s story reflects resilience, discipline and the steady rise of a young entrepreneur building her future step by step.
