Background information forms the foundation of every remarkable journey. For Bongiwe Dlamini, an educator, digital content creator and entrepreneur from Sigangeni, humble village roots have shaped almost everything about who she is today.
Holding a Bachelor of Education Degree in Business Studies, she has always believed that where you come from should never determine how far you can go. Her path has combined education, hard work, faith, taking opportunities when they arrive and creating opportunities when they do not. Today, she balances teaching with content creation reaching 465 000 followers on TikTok and 110 000 on Facebook, brand partnerships, entrepreneurial projects and an MBA journey at the University of Eswatini.
Reflecting on her current focus, Dlamini explains that her life is very much about growth and building. “Right now, my life is very much about growth and building, teaching remains very important to me because I genuinely love working with young people and discovering their potential.”

At the same time, content creation has grown into a serious professional pursuit. She uses her platform to tell stories, promote businesses, share information and show young people alternative ways of creating a livelihood. Furthermore, she maintains a keen interest in entrepreneurship, particularly initiatives capable of making a real difference in rural communities.
When considering what defines her both personally and professionally, Dlamini highlights purpose, resilience and authenticity.
“Personally, I am someone who is very grounded. Professionally, I am very intentional about growth.” Although she works as a teacher, she rejects the notion that the classroom limits her potential. She embraces teaching, creating, farming, building businesses, learning new skills and exploring diverse opportunities without fear of starting something entirely new. Her career journey spans education and digital media seamlessly. Teaching Business Studies, Accounting and Economics gives her immense fulfilment when watching students succeed. Over time, she realised that communication and education skills translate effectively outside the classroom. Building a large digital community opened doors to brand collaborations, major events and digital entrepreneurship programmes.

One achievement holding profound personal meaning is turning her platform into an income-generating business while maintaining her teaching career. Additionally, starting her MBA at the University of Eswatini marks a special milestone reinforcing her belief that learning should never stop.
Moving forward, she intends to expand her personal brand, secure bigger collaborations and pursue entrepreneurial interests.
Navigating today’s scarce traditional employment opportunities requires a redefinition of success. For Dlamini, success extends beyond a good job or financial security, representing the freedom and ability to create opportunities for oneself and others.
“Success is having the freedom and ability to create opportunities for yourself while also creating opportunities for others,” she says. Through her platform, she demonstrates that circumstances do not constitute a ceiling. She works directly with former students by assisting them with farming, advertising and selling products, providing a practical push rather than mere advice. Attributing her success to God, hard work, consistency and a willingness to learn, Dlamini avoids waiting for perfection. “Sometimes you have to start with what you have and improve along the way,” she advises.

A competitive mindset and a desire to inspire young people watching her journey fuel her consistent pursuit of positive outcomes. Followers might occasionally feel surprised by her diverse range of interests. Beyond digital content, she holds deep passions for education, farming, business and personal development, enjoying practical tasks and stepping outside her comfort zone.
Looking toward long-term aspirations, Dlamini envisions building a strong personal brand and enterprises that generate opportunities for youth and women. Her MBA supports this broader vision by deepening her understanding of business. Ultimately, she aims to create initiatives that outlive social media and bridge the information gap for rural communities.

Assessing the midpoint of 2026, she describes the year as a period of growth, stretching and stepping into new territory. Milestones include expanding her follower count, collaborating with brands and commencing her MBA studies, alongside witnessing the academic progress of former students.
Concluding with inspiring advice for readers, Dlamini emphasises resilience and self-reinvention.
“Start with what you have. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin, your background is not a limitation. Where you come from is part of your story, but it does not have to be the end of your story.”
