MBABANE — Local legendary Mbhacanga pioneer, Mshikishi Mndzebele, prepares for a monumental double celebration.
Affectionately known by his devoted followers as ‘The Gorilla Man’, Mndzebele is set to mark 72 years of remarkable life and an awe-inspiring 52 years shaping the soul of African traditional music on November 21, 2026, at the Emsengeni Lounge in Ezulwini.
For more than 50 years, Mndzebele has been a giant in traditional music. Long before modern recording studios existed, his powerful voice and heavy Mbhacanga rhythms were famous across the region. Adding international prestige to the landmark event, legendary South African Mbaqanga-Soul powerhouse Soul Brothers have officially confirmed that they will cross the border to perform live at the double celebration.
In a special video address that has sent shockwaves of excitement through fan bases, the group’s iconic leader, Black Moses, extended a personal invitation to music lovers across the region. “As Soul Brothers we are coming to support Mshikishi Mndzebele on November 21 during his double celebration, please also support him, we invite all of Soul Brothers fans to come in numbers so that we celebrate with Mshikishi Mndzebele,” Black Moses stated in the video.

Running from 10am to 6pm, the stellar line-up bridges cultural divides by featuring a rich tapestry of Umbhacanga, Gospel, Maskandi, Hip Hop, Comedy, Poetry and Dance.
