Thirty-seven young entrepreneurs have graduated from the Youth Business Accelerator (YBA) programme, equipped with practical business skills and tools to strengthen their enterprises and pursue sustainable growth.

The four-day programme, delivered by Tholulwazi Hub in partnership with Arizona State University at American Spaces in Mbabane, concluded on Friday, October 23, 2026, with a business pitch competition that gave participants an opportunity to present their business ideas before a panel of professionals.

The competition was judged by experts drawn from the business, finance, media and creative sectors, who assessed the participants’ business concepts and their potential for growth.

Kiana Cleanings emerged as the overall winner, followed by Green Roots Engineering Solutions in second place and Mason Prime Meats in third place.

Beyond the competition, the programme focused on equipping participants with practical knowledge and tools to help them develop their businesses, improve their operations and build sustainable enterprises.

The initiative reflects the growing importance of supporting young entrepreneurs as they seek to translate their ideas and skills into viable businesses that can contribute to economic development and job creation.

The Municipal Council of Mbabane welcomed the initiative, noting that youth empowerment involves creating opportunities for young people to turn their skills and ideas into sustainable livelihoods.

DEVELOPMENT

The programme also complements the council’s broader development agenda, particularly its Integrated Development Plan and Local Economic Development Strategy, which seek to promote economic opportunities within the municipality.

The successful completion of the programme was made possible through the contributions of facilitators, judges and supporting partners, including the American Embassy, MCM Opemia, IREX and Reign Brand House.

Their involvement helped provide a platform for young entrepreneurs to learn, showcase their business concepts and receive professional evaluation.
