MBABANE – Nothing could stop the students from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) from enjoying their sports competition.

The games, held at Eveni Sports Ground, were organised by Fundzama Multi-Services. This is a business consulting company made up of Public Relations (PR), Business Management (BM) and Events Management (EM) students, as part of their university project.

Three football matches kept the large crowd of football fans entertained. At the time this report was written, the first game had just finished.

It was IT Real Lisegazini who secured a place in the finals, winning 5-4 after a sudden death penalty shootout against IT Celtics.

The game ended in a 3-all draw in regular time and went straight to penalties. Goals for Lisegazini were scored by Innocent Ngwenya, Siyabonga Dlamini and an own goal from Phathizwe Dlamini. Meanwhile, Qiniso ‘Juju’ Gwebu, Mangaliso Shabangu and Mthobisi Hlophe scored for IT Celtics, preventing Lisegazini from winning directly in normal time.

One of the organisers, Luyandza Lukhele, said students needed to relax as they sometimes find university life tough.

“We sometimes have it hard during classes and exams. The students needed a break, as these kinds of events help them cope well with pressure. We’re grateful to the company for trusting us with the job of hosting this event,” he said.

Meanwhile, Kenny Dlamini, Diskibet Social Media Manager and Content Creator, said they worked with the new company as a friendly gesture.

“We partnered with them after understanding that students need to relieve stress from school pressure. This is the perfect time because they’ve just handed in their projects,” he said.
