MBABANE – Mkhuleko Mangwe is set to represent the kingdom at the prestigious ‘Ubuhle Be Africa Pan-African Festival’.

It will  take place from tomorrow to July 27, 2025 at the Kwakhangelamankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal.

Popularly known as Sancheziey Salukazana, he will be one of the featured performers at the festival, which celebrates Africa’s diverse cultures through music, art and traditional expression. He becomes one of the few artists from Eswatini selected to perform at this three-day celebration of African heritage and identity.

Known for his traditional Afro-pop sound and powerful stage presence, Sancheziey rose to prominence with his heartfelt track ‘Siyabonga Gogo’, his music is deeply rooted in culture, often blending storytelling, ancestral praise and rhythm.

Reflecting on the milestone, Mangwe described the opportunity as ‘a Hand of God at work’, noting that even though his song performed well, it had not yet opened doors to major local stages.

He said the track carried a ‘Swati-defining melody, message and elements,’ but despite its success, the Sancheziey brand had not been booked for any of the country’s big events.

“With this Festival,” he added, “I believe it will send a statement to the emaSwati event organisers that they can now trust us with their stages.”

Mangwe went on to say that everything was happening at the right time.

“All in all, it was just a matter of time, passion and God’s will, so I’m really honoured and I’ll go there knowing that this is the birth of a great journey ahead.”

Sancheziey also expressed gratitude to his supporters, saying : “Thank you to the Salukazana family for the love shown that keeps me pushing day in and day out”.

The festival is expected to draw crowds from across the continent and will feature a mix of performances, cultural showcases and royal engagements, with Sancheziey Salukazana proudly flying Eswatini’s flag on an international stage.
