MBABANE – Lobamba Dynamos were crowned champions of the 2025 Mbabane Build it Plus Under-13 tournament after a tense 7-6 penalty shoot-out victory over Dark City at the Msunduza Sports Ground yesterday.

Both teams looked exhausted, having played games throughout the day and struggled to create clear scoring chances during regular time. This meant the match was decided by a tense penalty shoot-out, where the Lobamba-based side converted all their spot-kicks to clinch the title.

The games were attended by Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu and top management from the Mbabane Build it Plus store. This tournament was the final event of this year’s country-wide youth football programme, which is sponsored by Build it Stores, Eswatini.

In a post-match interview, Mngomezulu thanked Build it Plus for investing in the development of football in Mbabane. He also thanked the Hhohho Regional Football Association (HRFA) for providing the teams and acknowledged the parents for their support.

Mngomezulu also revealed that a 20-member team had been selected to represent Mbabane in the 2025 Build it Under-13 National Championships. “We are yet to decide the venue for the national championships. We might host them at Somhlolo National Stadium or at Mavuso Sports Centre in November,” Mngomezulu said.
