Mbabane – Local actor Nqaba Tsela has replaced Antony ‘Zuka’ Ntjalintjali in the role of ‘Vacu’ on ‘Isitha’.
This was confirmed by Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Stanley Dlamini. “Nqaba has replaced Zuka in the role Zuka failed to do. Thembinkosi Mthethwa from the ‘Ekhaya’ series was shortlisted too for the same role, but he was not available,” Dlamini said.
Dlamini further cautioned local actors to respect partnerships and uphold sustainability. “We urge our people to respect the partnership and refrain from inaccurate information. The partnership is built on a transparency of information and we request beneficiaries to uphold same for the sustainability and benefit of our people,” he said.
Dlamini further shared that the team from ‘Isitha’ respects the relationship they have with ENCAC, hence they ended up taking another liSwati to replace Ntjalintjali. “People have to understand that we are also competing with people from Mpumalanga. Isitha was merciful to Ntjalintjali, as they kept giving him more chances and several roles to explore. The bottom line is that he failed,” Dlamini alleged. Information shared with this publication highlights that Tsela’s contract will be effective until the end of November 2025 and his employment commenced on September 8. “Kindly note that since your employment commenced on September 8, your salary for September will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. This means that you will be paid for the days worked from September 8 to September 30. Additionally, you will receive your full salary for October and November,” reads part of the message, which accompanied Tsela’s contract.
During an interview with Antony ‘Zuka’ Ntjalintjali, he explained his reasons for leaving the show. He alleged that when he was hired, he was given a contract which stipulated that he would receive E18 000, but that later changed without reason. It was mentioned to him that he would now be getting E700.
“I was never told anything on why they sent the E700 contract.
