LOBAMBA – Royal Leopard have been ordered to dream bigger and deliver bolder, with National Commissioner (NATCOM) of Police and club President, Vusi Manoma Masango, demanding a place in the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
The call comes after the police outfit mauled Namibia’s Young African 5-0 in a match which was played at Somhlolo National Stadium yesterday, sealing a ruthless 7-0 aggregate triumph to cruise into the next round. For Masango, however, the win is merely the beginning.
“The mandate was clear – they had to win and they did so emphatically both away and at home,” Natcom declared. “But this is only the start. The real test lies ahead as we advance in the CAF Confederation Cup.”
Royal Leopard are bracing themselves for a clash against either a Mauritian side or a heavyweight from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Masango made it clear that the team will be ready for whoever steps forward: “We will prepare for any opponent. We will fight where our strength takes us.”
He also praised the historic return of continental football to Somhlolo National Stadium, thanking His Majesty’s government for ensuring clubs no longer bear the crippling expense of hosting ‘home’ ties abroad.
