SIDVOKODVO – The inaugural Disability Arts Festival was a significant event that drew widespread attention and celebrated the talents of artists with disabilities.

The festival, held at The Luke Commission in Sidvokodvo on Saturday, showcased the importance of inclusivity in the arts and the power of creativity to break down barriers.

The event was attended by prominent public figures, including Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Thulisile Dladla, Minister for Education and Training Owen Nxumalo and Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Bongani Nzima. As a multidisciplinary arts festival, it featured music, poetry, fashion, drama and fine arts exhibitions, when the diverse talents of showcased artists.

Performances throughout the day captivated the audience. Artists such as Sipho Makhabane, Sphiwo Ndoni, Mshikishi, Phetsile Masilela, Linda Dlamini, Nothando Dlamini and Sabelo Matse delivered powerful acts that left spectators yearning for more.
