MBABANE – Miss Cultural Heritage, along with the pageant winner and team, brought aid to pupils of Nyakatfo Primary and Mpofu High Schools during a recent donation drive. The pageant team donated valuable items to the pupils, as confirmed by Miss Cultural Heritage Director Nelly Shongwe, who was also part of the initiative.“We donated jerseys, sanitary towels and also painted the chiefdom. The sanitary pads were donated for Mpofu High School, while the jerseys were for Nyakatfo Primary School,” she said. The donation drive was sponsored by Eclipse Investments and the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC).This philanthropic work follows the recent announcement of this year’s Top 12 finalists who will compete for the crown. The unveiling was led by Stanley Dlamini, the Chief Executive Officer of ENCAC, at the Mountain View International Hotel this month.During the event, Dlamini announced that Old Mutual has sponsored E40 000 and Eclipse Restaurant has sponsored E60 000 towards Miss Cultural Heritage.Outlining the significant prize package, Dlamini stated: “Eclipse Restaurant sponsored E60 000, they said the crowned queen will receive E50 000 monthly with E3 000 allowance and E2 000 for charity work.”The pageant seeks to nurture young women as ambassadors of Eswatini’s traditions and heritage, encouraging them to lead by example and promote cultural pride across the kingdom.
