MBABANE – “This win means more than just a milestone to me,  it is a reminder of God’s faithfulness, the power of consistency and the love that people continue to show towards my ministry. I am humbled beyond words.”

This was the comment from Gospel singer, Nothando Hlophe, after she was honoured with the Best of Africa Award at the Crown Gospel Awards, held on Sunday at the Durban International Convention Centre (ICC) in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.

Hlophe added that her biggest takeaway from this moment is that when God ordains a path, no effort is ever wasted.

“Every prayer, every rehearsal, every tear and every step of obedience builds up to something beautiful. I am also reminded that the people He places around us,  supporters, family and my incredible team are part of the blessing.”

She concluded: “Thank you so much for the love and for walking this journey with me. This victory belongs to all of us, and above all, to God.”

The 18th Crown Gospel Music Awards is the premier platform saluting excellence in African Gospel music. This is the ultimate annual gathering, where over 30 top artists and the industry’s who’s who converge. Blending deep spiritual significance with unparalleled glamour and style, the event features the iconic red carpet, celebrity fashion and dynamic stage performances. More than 25 prestigious trophies are presented across diverse categories. It is a cultural phenomenon that spotlights talent, encourages artistic courage and celebrates the power of faith. It is the must-attend event for the Gospel legacy across the continent.

With her recent project called ‘A New Dawn’, Hlophe has delivered hit songs that have moved the nation.

She was a member of the Gospel and worship musical group Women in Praise until she broke out as a solo artist, releasing her debut solo album in 2016. In 2019, she won Female Artist of the Year, Best Gospel Artist and Song of the Year at the 3rd Annual MTN Eswatini Music.
