MBABANE – Late businessman Keith Sigwane must surely be smiling in his grave.

This is because his daughter, Ncedile, has scored big by becoming the top IEB/ISC student in the SADC region for the 2025 academic year.

Ncedile, together with five other high-performing learners, have put Enjabulweni School in a celebratory mood as its Class of 2025 recorded 100 per cent pass rate.

She obtained six A* symbols and two As. In Computer Science, she scored an impressive 98 per cent, while in Engineering Graphics and Technology, she achieved 97 per cent.

She obtained 90 per cent in both English Language and French.

In Mathematics, she achieved a perfect score of 100 per cent, while in Physical Science she scored 80 per cent. When interviewed, after being granted permission by her mother, Nonhlanhla, Ncedile said that although she did not meet all her original targets, she exceeded expectations by obtaining numerous distinctions.

“I am quite excited, and my highlight is the fact that I performed well even in subjects where I had doubts. I believe that the reason for my good performance is that I took my studies seriously from as early as Grade 10,” she said. She explained that because she prioritised all her subjects while in Grade 10, the final examinations felt more like a revision exercise.

When asked how she prepared herself for the exam room, she said: “I prioritised sleep to avoid mental exhaustion. I also made sure that I ate well in order to stay healthy. In addition, I worked closely with my teachers to ensure that I got things right.”

She also spoke fondly of her late father, saying that when he was alive, he assisted her with her studies and consistently encouraged her to work hard.

“My mother has also been supportive throughout, and the best way to thank her is by passing with flying colours,” she said.

The school’s Head teacher Mathew Kamota, said on behalf of the Board of Governors and the staff of Enjabulweni School, they extend their heartfelt congratulations to the Matric cohort of 2025. He said achieving a 100 per cent pass rate is a testament to the dedication, resilience and hard work of their pupils, parents, Board and teachers. He said they are particularly proud to announce that 97.8 per cent of their learners achieved a Bachelor’s Degree pass, which is a 2.8 per cent improvement on the 2024 results, with the remaining 2.2 per cent securing Diploma passes.

“These results reflect our commitment to academic rigour and the individual success of every student. We thank the Board, parents and teachers for their unwavering support in guiding this cohort towards such a stellar milestone,” the head teacher said.

Her ambition has, however, changed following that she has been excelling in Accounting and Mathematics, where she collected many awards.
