MBABANE – The poetry scene is set for resurgence as poetry show ‘Nkhondlo Cho’ announces its return.

Soul Therapy, a collective that has long served as a cornerstone of the spoken word community, is stepping back into the spotlight after a period of relative silence.

Originally slated for October 31, 2025 at the William Pitcher Dining Hall, the event has been rescheduled for February 6, 2026. It will run from 2pm to 5pm, the show promises to reignite the passion of a following that has remained loyal throughout the group’s recent hiatus.

Soul Therapy has built its reputation on delivering impactful and thought-provoking performances. By weaving storytelling with rhythm and emotion, the collective creates an immersive experience that resonates far beyond the stage. While recent times have seen a quieter phase for the group, ‘Nkhondlo Cho’ is designed to change that narrative and reaffirm commitment to the craft.

Organiser Mnakekeli ‘Caregiver’ Dube, a pivotal figure behind the event, expressed unwavering optimism regarding the collective’s return. He was keen to reassure supporters that the group’s mission remains unchanged and its creative spirit is more robust than ever. “We want to put it out there to the people that ‘Soul Therapy’ is back and ready to deliver, just like it has been doing over the years. We also want to revive hope to those who had lost hope in us,” Caregiver’ stated.

The upcoming showcase is envisioned as a landmark occasion with broad appeal. While it aims to satisfy seasoned poetry aficionados, with characteristic depth and artistry, it also extends a warm welcome to newcomers curious about the medium.

‘Caregiver’ has issued an open invitation to the public, emphasising that the unique combination of rhythm and raw emotion has the power to captivate even those who might not traditionally consider themselves fans of poetry. ‘For Soul Therapy’, this is more than just a performance; it is a revival of a cultural movement that seeks to inspire and heal through the power of the written word.
