At just 22 years old, Sihle Nkonde carries the dignity of a seasoned minister. Raised in a household where faith was a lived experience rather than a mere set of rules, she was shaped by a daily environment of prayer and worship.

“One of my fondest childhood memories is singing in church and family gatherings, those moments planted a deep love for music and for God’s presence very early in my life,” Nkonde recalls. These early performances were the seeds of what has become a committed career in Gospel music.

“Like anyone else, my weakness can sometimes be overthinking or putting too much pressure on myself, but I am learning to surrender everything to God and trust His process,” she says. This grounded perspective allows her to navigate the industry without losing sight of her primary purpose.

Influenced by the worship leaders and Gospel artists she listened to as a child, she credits the Word of God as the primary mould for her sound. Ultimately, she views the Holy Spirit as her greatest influence, ensuring her music remains focused on worship rather than performance.
A significant milestone in Nkonde’s journey is her recent opportunity to perform with Indumiso YeTende. For the young artist, this collaboration is more than just a career move, it is a spiritual confirmation. “The opportunity to perform with Indumiso YeTende is truly an honour,” she notes. “Personally, it is a confirmation of God’s grace and faithfulness in my journey. Spiritually, it is a chance to serve, to worship and to be part of something that glorifies God. For my career, it is a meaningful platform that allows my ministry to grow and reach more people,” she explained passionately.
Nkonde has always looked to veterans in the industry who maintain their authenticity. She cites figures such as Pastor Timothy Myeni, Thabile Myeni, Nothando Hlophe and Nelly Siwela as her primary inspirations. Their consistency and devotion provide a blueprint for how she intends to conduct her own ministry as she moves into the spotlight.
The coming months are set to be fundamental for Nkonde. She is currently preparing for a major recording, an event her fans are anticipating with high expectations. The artist promises a collection of work defined by heartfelt worship and sincerity.
Her preparation for such a significant task is rigorous, involving a mix of technical rehearsals and spiritual alignment. “I deal with pressure by prayer and preparation. I remind myself that ministry is not about perfection but about obedience. Once I have prepared, I trust God to take control and allow His presence to lead the event,” she explains.

By prioritising planning and communication, she ensures that her family life and personal spiritual growth do not suffer at the expense of her career.
