Siniketiwe Clementine Maseko, the former Miss Teen Hhohho 2024/25, has demonstrated her commitment to her community through a significant act of generosity.
At a special service held at St Matthias Anglican Church, the young beauty queen donated stationery to 50 children and presented shawls to elderly members of the congregation.
The event took place before the start of the 2026 academic year, coinciding with a church service dedicated to the reopening of schools. The gesture was warmly received by both the congregation and local residents.
Maseko, who was recently crowned second runner-up at the Miss Teen Africa pageant, also secured awards for Best Traditional Costume and Congeniality. Speaking at the event, she expressed her joy in supporting her peers and elders. “Growing up, I always believed that success is not just about personal achievements but also about uplifting those around you. Education is a powerful tool and providing stationery to these children is my small way of encouraging them to chase their dreams. The shawls for the elderly symbolise warmth and respect for the pillars of our community who have given so much to us,” she said.
The Pastor of St Matthias Anglican Church, Earnest Mnisi, praised Maseko’s initiative and highlighted her role as a positive influence on her peers. “Siniketiwe exemplifies the spirit of service and leadership that we cherish in our youth. Her commitment to both education and community welfare is inspiring and I pray that her actions encourage others to contribute to the well-being of our church and society,” he said.
Her mother, Zanele Ndwandwe, added that her daughter’s actions demonstrate the vital role community support plays in nurturing future leaders. “Siniketiwe continues to shine as a role model and beacon of hope, proving that true beauty lies in giving back,” she said.
Gogo Kunene, one of the elders who received a shawl, expressed her heartfelt gratitude. “This shawl is more than just a gift, it is a sign that we are remembered and valued. Siniketiwe’s kindness touches my heart deeply. It reminds us all that our community is strong when we care for each other, regardless of age,” she said.
Maseko’s pageant journey began with her local title in Hhohho, eventually leading her to the Miss Teen Africa pageant at Seasons Golf Leisure Spa in Pretoria. Her vibrant representation of Eswatini’s culture earned her international recognition. She noted that this donation was also a gesture of thanks to the congregation for their prayers and support throughout the past year.
