MBABANE – Eswatini’s global Amapiano sensation, Uncle Waffles, is set to make her long-awaited debut at the MTN Bushfire 2026 festival.

From becoming the first female Amapiano act to perform at Coachella to headlining world-renowned stages, appearing on the cover of Forbes and earning a co-sign from Beyoncé, she has placed the sound of Southern Africa firmly at the centre of the global stage. Now, she brings that energy back home.

With an infectious rhythm and commanding presence, Uncle Waffles delivers sets where music, movement and shared energy collide. A homecoming awaits on the MTN Bushfire 2026 main stage.

Born Lungelihle Zwane, Uncle Waffles has emerged as one of the most influential figures in the global Amapiano movement. Known for her energetic performances and strong stage presence, the DJ rose to fame in 2021.

A video of her performing during a live set went viral online, sparking a career that has seen her gain well over 3 million followers on social media.

The announcement is part of a gradual reveal of performers for the 19th edition of the festival. The event will take place from May 29 to 31, 2026, at House on Fire. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks as anticipation builds for one of Africa’s most recognised cultural gatherings.

The latest reveal aligns with the festival’s theme of presenting a programme described as ‘diverse, eclectic and imaginative’. This reflects Bushfire’s long-standing focus on cultural exchange through music, arts and social activism.

Her career has since expanded internationally with performances across Africa, Europe and the United States. She also made history as the first female Amapiano act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
