MBABANE – Rising musical talent Celumusa Mkhatshwa, known as Ceceboy, is set to release his latest single, ‘Kusekhaya La’.

The track is a sonic tribute to the concept of home, inspired by the national identity of Eswatini and the royal call for self-reliance. Ceceboy noted that the composition was heavily influenced by the speeches by His Majesty King Mswati III and the late King Sobhuza II, particularly those focusing on development and the importance of emaSwati empowering themselves.

Kusekhaya La’ simply means ‘This Is Home’,” the artist explained. “But the song does not just mean home in the literal sense. It is a place where we feel safe, at ease and most grounded.”

The single represents a unique stylistic blend, fusing the grandeur of Pop Opera with the traditional rhythmic foundations of sibhaca. Written in the early hours of July 1, 2025, the track was born from a moment of unexpected inspiration while the artist was preparing for a performance.

Ceceboy revealed that he integrated existing traditional melodies with his own original compositions to create a sound that is both modern and culturally rooted.

“The melody came when I least expected it,” he said. “What stood out to me most in His Majesty’s messages was the encouragement for emaSwati to go out, learn and return to empower the rest of the nation.”

While the production process has been an evolving journey of new ideas, Ceceboy has enlisted a formidable team of local talent to bring the vision to life.
