BIG BEND – Ubombo Sugar Limited is set to host its Supplier Day 2026 symposium.
This is an initiative aimed at strengthening relationships with local suppliers while enhancing transparency, efficiency and compliance within its procurement systems.
The event, scheduled to take place at Mayaluka Hall, will bring together suppliers, contractors and key stakeholders for an interactive engagement on critical aspects of supply chain management.
Ubombo Sugar has structured the symposium into two sessions, running from 0900hrs to 1200hrs and from 1300hrs to 1600hrs, with participants required to register for one session. The supplier day forms part of Ubombo Sugar’s broader strategy to build a more inclusive and resilient supply chain by equipping local businesses with the knowledge and tools needed to participate effectively in procurement processes.
Central to the discussions will be supplier onboarding, a process that plays a crucial role in determining how businesses gain access to procurement opportunities within large corporates such as Ubombo Sugar.Efficient onboarding systems are essential for ensuring that suppliers meet compliance standards, while also creating opportunities for emerging enterprises to enter formal supply chains.
For many small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Eswatini, understanding these processes remains a key barrier to participation.Through the Supplier Day platform, Ubombo Sugar is expected to demystify these requirements, enabling local businesses to better align with procurement expectations and improve their chances of securing contracts. The symposium will also place strong emphasis on safety and contractor management, reflecting the importance of maintaining high operational standards in industrial environments.
