MBABANE – Sidwashini United have pulled off a dramatic coup to keep their top-flight hopes alive.

This follows the appointment of Coaches’ Instructor Musa Mamba as their Head Coach. The former Mbabane Swallows tactician has managed only three matches since arrival at this outfit. His first outing was a 2-0 loss to title contenders Red Rhinos at Simunye Stadium. The following game was played at Prince of Wales Sports Ground and ended with a 1-all draw after Samkeliso ‘Fela’ Dlamini levelled the score just before half time. This past weekend the side were held to a goalless draw by Viva Stumbo’s XI.

Mamba’s mission is crystal clear; he wants to rescue Sidwashini from the looming threat of relegation. He made this mandate clear when speaking to this publication this past Friday.

“I’m with Sidwashini United now as a head coach. I have worked with one of their directors and he asked me  to offer a helping hand to save them from relegation,”  he said.

The club currently sit on position 11 on the latest MulaSport National First Division charts, with 24 points from 19 games played. They are just ahead of Manzini Sundows, who are closely following them on position 12 with 23 points and a game in hand. Teams finishing ranked 13th to 16th will go down.

Mamba deserves no introduction. On top of having coached some of the country’s renowned sides, he is a seasoned sports administrator. He has been involved with the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) grassroots development and coaching instructor initiatives. He served as Eswatini Football Coaches Association (EFCA) secretary for more than half a decade.
