MBABANE – A major windfall awaits.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder and current Eswatini MTN Premier League side Tabankulu Celtics Head Coach Humphrey Mlwane, has emerged victorious in a legal battle against his former employers, The Bees FC, who are campaigning in South Africa’s second-tier.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) has ruled in favour of Mlwane, ordering the South African side to compensate him for the remainder of his contract following his dismissal.

Mlwane was sacked approximately five months ago, following a string of poor results. The dismissal came as a surprise to some, as the tactician had successfully guided the club to promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship just the previous season. At the time of his departure, Mlwane still had six months left on his employment contract.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, Mlwane confirmed that the National Soccer League’s judicial bodies issued the judgment on Monday. The ruling mandates that The Bees FC settle the outstanding salaries for the remaining six months of his deal, totalling E191 000.

“I have won my case against The Bees. They have to pay me E191 000, even though the initial claim was adjusted slightly,” Mlwane stated.

“The case was handled by the National Soccer League, where the verdict was reached in my favour,” he confirmed.
